Commercial Litigation Associate

Job Overview:
A well-established commercial litigation firm in Downtown Manhattan is seeking a highly skilled mid-level or senior Litigation Associate with 5–7 years of experience. This role focuses on complex commercial and construction litigation. Candidates should be able to independently manage a caseload from intake through resolution, with a strong emphasis on litigation strategy, legal writing, and courtroom advocacy. This is a hybrid role offering a blend of in-office and remote work.

Location:

• New York, NY

Duties:

• Manage a full caseload of commercial and construction litigation matters

• Prepare and draft complex pleadings, motions, briefs, and discovery responses

• Conduct and defend depositions

• Handle discovery strategy and trial preparation

• Represent clients at hearings and conferences

• Maintain ongoing communication with clients, courts, and opposing counsel

• Supervise support staff and junior attorneys as needed

Requirements:

• 5–7 years of relevant litigation experience

• Admitted to practice law in the State of New York

• Hands-on experience handling commercial and/or construction litigation matters

• Ability to manage litigation independently with minimal supervision

• Proven success in motion practice, discovery, and depositions

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited U.S. law school

Certifications:

• Active license to practice law in New York

Skills:

• Strong oral and written advocacy skills

• Exceptional legal research and analytical skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel

• Effective time and case management

• Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
