A law firm in West Palm Beach, FL is seeking a Subrogation Litigation Associate Attorney to join their team. The ideal candidate will handle a variety of tasks related to subrogation, including intake, review, active management of discovery, mediation, trial, and the management of numerous claims annually. The majority of these claims involve property damage losses ranging from a few thousand dollars to millions. The position requires a valid Florida Bar license, and previous experience in insurance or subrogation law is highly desirable. Ideal candidates should possess a minimum of two years' experience in drafting legal motions, preparing for court proceedings and depositions, analyzing recovery opportunities for plaintiff claims, and communicating effectively with clients and opposing counsel.

 

Duties:

  • Manage a high volume of subrogation claims involving property damage losses.
  • Conduct intake and review of new claims, assessing legal strategies and recovery opportunities.
  • Actively handle all aspects of discovery, including drafting and responding to discovery requests.
  • Prepare for court proceedings, including drafting legal motions and attending hearings.
  • Represent clients in mediations and negotiations to reach favorable settlements.
  • Conduct depositions of witnesses and experts.
  • Analyze recovery opportunities for plaintiff claims, identifying potential defendants and liabilities.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, insurance adjusters, and opposing counsel throughout the litigation process.
  • Draft legal pleadings, briefs, and other documents related to subrogation cases.
  • Maintain case files and documentation, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Provide legal advice and counsel to clients on subrogation matters.
  • Stay updated on relevant laws, regulations, and legal trends in subrogation.

 

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Valid Florida Bar license.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in litigation, preferably with a focus on subrogation or insurance law.
  • Experience drafting legal motions, pleadings, and conducting depositions.
  • Knowledge of property damage claims and subrogation principles.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage a high volume of cases and meet deadlines.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy.
  • Proficiency in legal research and analysis.

Education:
