A law firm in Washington, DC, is seeking a Patent Litigation Associate Attorney with 3-5 years of experience. The ideal candidate should possess a Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited law school with an excellent academic record. They should have experience assisting in all aspects of patent litigation matters, along with a technical background in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Mechanical Engineering, or Life Sciences. The role offers hands-on litigation experience and opportunities for accelerated career development.

 

Duties:

  • Assist in all aspects of patent litigation matters, including legal research, drafting pleadings, motions, and discovery requests.
  • Participate in trial preparation, pre-trial, and trial activities.
  • Utilize technical expertise to analyze patent claims and technical documents.
  • Interface directly with attorneys and clients, providing legal advice and guidance.
  • Maintain a demanding workload, demonstrating strong legal writing skills.
  • Take initiative and work independently on assigned tasks.
  • Contribute to decision-making, problem-solving, and organizational efforts within the team.

 

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctorate (JD) degree from an accredited law school with an excellent academic record.
  • Admission to the D.C. Bar (or State Bar in which the attorney is practicing).
  • Admission to the USPTO strongly preferred.
  • Technical background in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Mechanical Engineering, or Life Sciences.
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to handle a demanding workload and work well under pressure.
  • Strong decision-making, problem-solving, and organization skills.

 

Education:

Juris Doctorate (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

 

Certifications:

  • Admission to the D.C. Bar (or State Bar in which the attorney is practicing).
  • Admission to the USPTO (strongly preferred).

 

Skills:

  • Strong legal research and writing skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative.
  • Proficiency in interfacing with attorneys and clients.
