Job Overview:
A prominent national law firm is seeking a Real Estate Finance Associate Attorney with 2 to 5 years of experience to join its Finance Department. This opportunity is ideal for candidates who are seeking exposure to sophisticated real estate financing transactions involving debt, equity, and capital stacks. The practice is highly regarded for its national reach and diverse transaction profile, with a primary focus on lender-side representation and the opportunity to work directly with senior attorneys and clients.

Location:

  • Los Angeles, CA

Duties:

  • Advise clients in complex commercial real estate finance transactions

  • Draft and negotiate loan agreements, intercreditor agreements, and equity documents

  • Manage deals involving construction loans and multi-tiered capital transactions

  • Handle matters related to structured real estate finance and distressed asset transactions

  • Represent both lender-side and borrower-side parties (with a focus on lenders/capital providers)

  • Coordinate due diligence, closing processes, and third-party communications

  • Work directly with partners and gain frequent client exposure

Requirements:

  • 2 to 5 years of real estate finance experience at an Am Law 100 or similar large law firm

  • Substantial transactional experience involving debt, equity, and mixed-capital real estate deals

  • Familiarity with preferred equity, mezzanine lending, and distressed asset transactions

  • Ability to manage multiple, complex transactions in a fast-paced environment

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited U.S. law school

Certifications:

  • Active bar license in the jurisdiction of the preferred office location (PA, MD, or CA)

Skills:

  • Strong drafting, analytical, and negotiation skills

  • High-level attention to detail and project management ability

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Business acumen and a client-service mindset

  • Team player who can also manage work independently
