A law firm in Salt Lake City, Utah, is seeking a tax associate attorney with 3-5 years of law firm experience to join its tax and estate planning practice group. The Tax Associate Attorney will handle various tax matters for corporations, partnerships, and other entities. Experience with tax-exempt organizations, real estate transactions, state and local taxation, or employee benefits is a plus. An LL.M. in tax or accounting background would be beneficial. The candidate must have excellent academic credentials, strong research and writing skills, and be highly motivated and hard-working.

 

Duties:

  • Handle various tax matters for corporations, partnerships, and other entities
  • Assist clients with tax planning and compliance
  • Research and analyze complex tax issues
  • Draft legal documents, including tax opinions, memoranda, and agreements
  • Represent clients in tax controversies before the IRS and state tax authorities
  • Provide advice on tax implications of business transactions
  • Stay updated on changes in tax laws and regulations
  • Collaborate with other attorneys and professionals on tax-related matters

 

Requirements:

  • 3-5 years of law firm experience in tax law
  • Experience with corporations, partnerships, and business tax issues
  • Familiarity with tax-exempt organizations, real estate transactions, state and local taxation, or employee benefits is a plus
  • LL.M. in tax or accounting background preferred
  • Excellent academic credentials
  • Commitment to ethics and professionalism
  • Highly motivated and hard-working
  • Member of the Utah Bar or willingness to take the Utah Bar

 

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
  • LL.M. in tax or accounting (preferred)

 

Certifications:

Member of the Utah Bar or willingness to take the Utah Bar
