The ideal candidate will have a Ph.D. in Biology, Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, Biochemistry, Immunology, or a related discipline, and must be registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. This role involves drafting and prosecuting patent applications, evaluating patent portfolios, and conducting due diligence investigations.

Duties:

  • Draft and prosecute patent applications in the field of biotechnology.
  • Evaluate and analyze patent portfolios to provide strategic advice to clients.
  • Conduct due diligence investigations related to intellectual property matters.
  • Collaborate with clients to understand their business goals and provide legal guidance accordingly.
  • Stay abreast of developments in biotech and IP law to ensure effective representation of clients.
  • Work closely with other attorneys and staff members to achieve client objectives.

Requirements:

  • 3-8 years of relevant experience in drafting and prosecuting patent applications in biotechnology.
  • Ph.D. in Biology, Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, Biochemistry, Immunology, or a related discipline.
  • Registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
  • Desirable: Previous experience in a law firm setting.
  • Excellent academic credentials demonstrating a strong background in biotechnology.

Education:
