Family Lawyer

A law firm in Rockville, MD, is seeking a Family Lawyer to assist individuals with various legal matters, including prenuptial agreements, divorce proceedings, child custody issues, and domestic violence cases. The ideal candidate will have experience in family law and real estate issues, with the ability to handle emotional situations effectively.

Duties:

• Advocate on behalf of clients in various family law matters, including divorce, alimony, child support, and custody.
• Attend court hearings and represent clients in trials and mediation sessions.
• Collaborate with senior partners and paralegals to move files through the civil litigation process efficiently.
• Handle the division of marital assets, including real estate, during divorce proceedings.
• Organize and maintain client files to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
• Supervise others while handling a moderate caseload.
• Conduct legal research, analyze situations, and develop effective strategies for clients.
• Draft persuasive legal documents and communicate effectively with clients and opposing parties.
• Utilize negotiation skills to achieve favorable outcomes for clients, especially in high-stress situations.

Requirements:

• 4-year degree with a legal background and J.D. degree.
• Active member of the American Bar Association (ABA).
• Experience at a legal firm working on family law and real estate issues for at least 1-2 years.
• Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to handle emotional situations with composure and empathy.
• Persuasive writing skills and proficiency in legal research.
