Job Overview

A law firm seeks an experienced Immigration Attorney in Atlanta, GA. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in removal defense and be bilingual in English and Spanish. This role requires a commitment to client advocacy and excellence in legal strategy and writing.

Duties

  • Represent clients in immigration court and at USCIS interviews.
  • Handle a caseload focused on cancellation of removal proceedings.
  • Draft and submit motions, briefs, legal memos, and waiver applications.
  • Conduct client consultations and develop individualized legal strategies.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, support staff, and opposing counsel.
  • Utilize legal research tools and case management software.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of immigration law and procedures.

Requirements

  • Licensed and in good standing with the Georgia State Bar.
  • Fluent in English; Spanish fluency preferred.
  • Minimum 4-5 years of experience in immigration removal defense and court advocacy.
  • Solid knowledge of immigration relief options.
  • Strong legal writing and research skills.
  • Proficient with legal research tools such as Westlaw and Kurzban.
  • Able to work efficiently with tools such as Google Drive, Slack, and legal case management software.
  • Demonstrates professionalism, empathy, and a commitment to excellence.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Licensed to practice law in Georgia.
