A law firm seeks a dynamic Patent Attorney to provide comprehensive counsel to clients regarding various aspects of intellectual property law, with a primary focus on patent prosecution. The ideal candidate should possess a minimum of 3 years of experience in patent prosecution and must be an active member in good standing of the Patent Bar.

 

Duties:

  • Provide legal counsel to clients on matters related to intellectual property law, with an emphasis on patent prosecution.
  • Draft and prosecute patent applications before the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).
  • Conduct patentability searches and analyze patent landscapes.
  • Advise clients on patent infringement and validity issues.
  • Collaborate with inventors and technical experts to understand inventions and prepare patent applications.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, colleagues, and USPTO examiners.
  • Stay abreast of changes in patent laws and regulations.

 

Requirements:

  • Active membership in good standing of the Patent Bar.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in patent prosecution.
  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to practice law in the state of Louisiana (preferred).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.

 

Education:

Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

 

Certifications:

Active membership in good standing of the Patent Bar.

 

Skills:

  • Proficiency in patent prosecution procedures and USPTO rules.
  • Strong legal research skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
