A law firm in Seattle is seeking a Mid-level Medical Devices and Mechanical Engineering Patent Prosecution Patent Agent to join their team. The ideal candidate should possess a high level of academic achievement, solid law firm, engineering, or industry experience, superb writing and communication skills, and hold a degree in biomedical or mechanical engineering.

 

Duties:

  • Conduct patent preparation and prosecution activities related to medical devices and mechanical engineering.
  • Collaborate with attorneys and inventors to gather necessary information for patent applications.
  • Draft, review, and amend patent applications to ensure accuracy and compliance with legal requirements.
  • Provide technical and legal support for patent litigation cases involving medical devices and mechanical products.

 

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of relevant patent preparation and prosecution experience.
  • High level of academic achievement.
  • The solid law firm, engineering, or industry experience.
  • Superb writing and communication skills.
  • Degree in biomedical or mechanical engineering. Other engineering disciplines coupled with substantial patent experience with medical devices and/or mechanical products, are acceptable.

 

Education:

Bachelor's degree in biomedical or mechanical engineering. Advanced degree preferred.

 

Certifications:

Admission to the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) is required.

  • Strong understanding of medical devices and mechanical engineering concepts.
  • Excellent research and analytical skills.
