A law firm in Phoenix is seeking a qualified and experienced Mid-level Medical Devices and Mechanical Engineering Patent Prosecution Patent Agent. The ideal candidate should possess a high level of academic achievement, solid law firm, engineering, or industry experience, superb writing and communication skills, and a degree in biomedical or mechanical engineering. Other engineering disciplines, coupled with substantial patent experience with medical devices and/or mechanical products, are acceptable. Admission to the USPTO is required.

 

Duties:

  • Conduct patent prosecution for medical devices and mechanical engineering inventions.
  • Draft and prepare patent applications, responses to office actions, and other legal documents related to patent prosecution.
  • Conduct patentability searches and provide opinions on patent issues.
  • Collaborate with inventors, engineers, and legal professionals to gather necessary information for patent applications.
  • Stay updated on relevant legal and technological developments in the field of medical devices and mechanical engineering.

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor or advanced degree in biomedical or mechanical engineering.
  • Admission to the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) is required.
  • 3+ years of relevant patent preparation and prosecution experience.
  • High level of academic achievement.
  • The solid law firm, engineering, or industry experience.
  • Superb writing and communication skills.

 

Education:

Bachelor or advanced degree in biomedical or mechanical engineering.

 

Certifications:

Admission to the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).
