Duties:

• Draft and prosecute U.S. patent applications related to advanced software technologies

• Collaborate with inventors and in-house counsel to develop and protect IP portfolios

• Analyze and respond to office actions from the USPTO

• Conduct technical and legal research in areas like AI, encryption, bioinformatics, mobile platforms, and cloud computing

• Support strategic IP counseling and portfolio management initiatives

Requirements:

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in patent prosecution

• Registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO)

• Demonstrated familiarity with software-related patent matters

• High attention to detail and ability to convey complex concepts clearly in writing

Education:

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a closely related field

Certifications:

• USPTO Registration Number required

• Active Bar membership in California or Washington preferred

Skills:

• Proficiency in drafting patent applications for a variety of software technologies

• Strong written and verbal communication abilities

• Aptitude for working independently while collaborating across teams

• Familiarity with emerging technologies such as cloud infrastructure, data security, artificial intelligence, networking, and databases
