Job Overview:
A top-tier law firm is seeking a Banking & Finance Associate Attorney with 2 to 6 years of relevant experience to join its nationally recognized practice group. This role involves advising borrowers and lenders on a wide array of debt financing transactions, including private credit deals, syndicated loans, and growth capital arrangements. The position offers an opportunity to work on complex matters in a supportive and collegial environment, with the flexibility to be based in any U.S. office.

Location:

  • Portland, OR

Duties:

  • Represent borrowers and lenders in a broad range of financing transactions

  • Advise on private credit transactions, syndicated credit facilities, and growth capital financings

  • Draft, negotiate, and review complex financing documentation

  • Collaborate across teams and practice areas on both domestic and international transactions

  • Provide practical, business-oriented legal solutions to clients

  • Maintain high standards of legal work and client service in a fast-paced environment

Requirements:

  • 2 to 6 years of experience in banking and finance at a law firm

  • Ability to manage complex transactional matters independently or as part of a team

  • Strong commitment to client service and excellence

  • Must be a member of the Bar in at least one U.S. state

  • Must fulfill jurisdictional requirements for the office location

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited U.S. law school

Certifications:

  • Licensed to practice law in at least one U.S. state

  • For California locations: Eligibility includes those awaiting admission upon passing the California Bar Examination

Skills:

  • Advanced legal drafting and negotiation skills in finance-related matters

  • Deep understanding of debt finance structures and principles

  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills

  • Strong analytical abilities and attention to detail

  • Capable of handling multiple deadlines and working in cross-office teams
