Junior to Mid-level Patent Prosecution Associate Attorney

A law firm in Fort Lauderdale, FL, is currently seeking a Junior to Mid-level Patent Prosecution Associate Attorney to join their team. The successful candidate will possess a high level of academic achievement, and solid law firm, engineering, and industry experience, coupled with superb writing and communication skills. This role requires individuals with a minimum of 2 years of relevant patent preparation and prosecution experience, along with a degree in electrical engineering or computer science. Preferred candidates will have experience in patent prosecution related to electrical engineering, software-related technologies, data science/AI, networking technologies (especially network security), and machine learning/artificial intelligence. The position mandates a JD degree and admission to the USPTO.

Duties:

• Engage in patent preparation and prosecution activities.
• Draft and submit patent applications.
• Demonstrate effective communication with clients and internal teams.
• Collaborate with legal professionals to provide comprehensive patent services.

Requirements:

• High level of academic achievement.
• 2+ years of relevant patent preparation and prosecution experience.
• Degree in electrical engineering or computer science.
• JD degree and admission to the USPTO.

Preferred Experience:

• Patent prosecution in electrical engineering or software-related technologies.
• Knowledge of data science, AI, networking technologies (especially network security), and machine learning/artificial intelligence.
• Familiarity with hardware security.
