Job Overview:
A well-established law firm is seeking a Litigation Associate Attorney with at least 2 years of experience to join its Washington, DC practice. This full-time position offers a dynamic mix of courtroom advocacy, legal drafting, and case management. The ideal candidate is a motivated and organized litigator who thrives in a high-volume environment and is eager to take full ownership of cases, including first-chairing bench trials and regular court appearances. 

Location:

  • Washington, DC

Duties:

  • Manage a high-volume caseload from initiation through resolution

  • First-chair bench trials and conduct hearings and court appearances

  • Draft pleadings, motions, oppositions, briefs, and default notices

  • Conduct comprehensive legal research and provide case analysis

  • Appear in court (DC) at least three times per week

  • Maintain proactive communication with clients and opposing counsel

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 years of litigation experience

  • Admitted and active to practice law in the District of Columbia

  • Demonstrated ability to manage litigation independently

  • Courtroom advocacy experience, including hearings and trials

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited U.S. law school

Certifications:

  • Active and in good standing with the District of Columbia Bar

Skills:

  • Strong oral advocacy and courtroom presence

  • Excellent legal writing and drafting skills

  • Ability to analyze complex legal issues under tight deadlines

  • Organized and detail-oriented with strong case management capabilities

  • Self-motivated with a proactive, solution-oriented approach
