A law firm is seeking an Attorney for their Meridian office. The Attorney will be responsible for all phases of litigation, including creating defense strategy, client communication, conducting investigations, depositions, motion practice, and trial. They will draft reports, discovery, motions, and attend court appearances regularly. Admittance to practice in the State of Idaho is required, with mediation, arbitration, trial experience preferred.

 

Duties:

  • Experience in all phases of litigation, including creating defense strategy, client communication, conducting investigations, depositions, managing motion practice, and trial.
  • Draft initial reports, interim reports, pre-trial reports, trials, and appellate activity.
  • Draft discovery requests and respond to discovery.
  • Draft and respond to discovery-related motions.
  • Regularly attend court appearances.
  • Take and defend depositions of fact witnesses and expert witnesses.
  • Draft motions for summary judgment.
  • Proactively manage docket.
  • Provide excellent customer service and communication.
  • Utilize analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Conduct mediation, arbitration, and trial experience, preferably as first or second chair.
  • Demonstrate excellent research abilities and written and oral communication skills.
  • Book of business is a plus.

 

Requirements:

  • 2+ years of insurance defense experience, preferably in construction defect.
  • Admitted to practice in the State of Idaho.

 

Education and Certifications:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to practice in the State of Idaho.
