A law firm located in Tampa is seeking a Litigation Attorney with 5+ years of experience in the area of business disputes or commercial litigation law. The Litigation Attorney will be responsible for handling the firm’s litigation files, creating legal strategies, drafting various pleadings and court filings, and providing legal advice and assistance to firm legal support staff. The candidate must have a Juris Doctor (JD) degree and be a member of the State Bar in good standing in the jurisdiction(s) in which the firm designates Attorney to practice. Admission into all state and/or federal courts in which the firm designates Attorney to practice is required. This position requires excellent organization, communication, time-management, and listening skills.

 

Duties:

  • Handle the firm’s litigation files in the appropriate forum.
  • Outline or oversee appropriate actions to be taken, including creation of legal strategy and budget for assigned cases.
  • Ensure action plans for assigned cases are implemented and completed.
  • Draft, review, and sign various pleadings and other court filings.
  • Render legal advice and assistance to all firm legal support staff as needed.
  • Become proficient at working within the firm’s case management system.
  • Act as a liaison between the firm and its clients, vendors, opposing counsel, and courts.
  • Manage all files in accordance with applicable laws, rules, and regulations.
  • Adhere to Bar rules, firm-established and client-established timelines, policies, rules, goals, and objectives.

 

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree.
  • Member of State Bar in good standing in jurisdiction(s) in which firm designates Attorney to practice.
  • Admission into all state and/or federal courts in which firm designates Attorney to practice.
  • 5+ years of experience as an attorney in the area of business disputes or commercial litigation law.

 

Education:

Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

 

Certifications:

Member of State Bar in good standing.

 

Skills:

  • Experience in business disputes or commercial litigation law.
  • Legal research and analysis.
  • Drafting various pleadings and court filings.
  • Communication and negotiation skills.
  • Case management and organization.
  • Proficiency in case management systems.
  • Liaison between firm, clients, vendors, and courts.
