Job Overview

A law firm seeks a mid-level associate or counsel with three to five years of experience in government contracts law for its Washington, DC office. The practice focuses on representing clients contracting with the Department of Defense and other national security-related agencies.

Duties

  • Provide guidance on procurement programs across the federal government, focusing on the Department of Defense/U.S. Military.
  • Advise clients under the FAR and DFAR regulations.
  • Handle bid protests and requests for equitable adjustment (REAs).
  • Manage Contract Dispute Act claims and litigation before relevant federal boards and courts.
  • Review joint venture agreements, teaming agreements, and subcontracts.
  • Address contract terminations, suspension, and debarment proceedings.

Requirements

  • Experience in private practice or U.S. Government procurement-related attorney positions.
  • Experience with the Defense Security Cooperation Agency (DCSA) is beneficial.
  • Knowledge of Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) and Foreign Ownership, Control, or Influence (FOCI).
  • Familiarity with export controls (ITAR/EAR) and government contracting cybersecurity requirements (e.g., CMMC).

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Bar admission in good standing.

Skills

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
