A law firm in Oakland, CA, is seeking a Music/Intellectual Property Transactional Attorney with at least 4 years of experience. The attorney will be responsible for handling music and intellectual property transactional matters, including drafting, revising, and reviewing licensing agreements, distribution agreements, and various contracts. Experience in music and entertainment law, as well as a background in general business transactional matters, is highly desirable. The ideal candidate should possess a broad knowledge of copyright, trademark enforcement, patent enforcement, intellectual property aspects of M&A transactions, the music industry, and general intellectual property work. Active membership in good standing with the State Bar of California is a requirement.

Duties:

  • Draft, revise, and review licensing agreements, distribution agreements, and various contracts in the music and intellectual property fields.
  • Provide legal counsel and representation in music and entertainment law matters.
  • Handle general business transactional issues.
  • Offer expertise in copyright, trademark enforcement, patent enforcement, and intellectual property aspects of M&A transactions.
  • Collaborate with clients in the music industry to address their legal needs.
  • Ensure legal compliance and client satisfaction in all transactions.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 4 years of experience as an attorney.
  • Proficiency in drafting, revising, and reviewing licensing agreements, distribution agreements, and contracts.
  • Prior legal experience in music and/or entertainment law and general business transactional matters (desired).
  • Broad knowledge of copyright, trademark enforcement, patent enforcement, and intellectual property aspects of M&A transactions.
  • Active membership in good standing with the State Bar of California.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
