A law firm in Denver, CO, is seeking an experienced Regulatory FERC Attorney with a strong background in federal and state laws and regulations, specifically in FERC proceedings involving electric matters. The ideal candidate will possess expertise in various aspects, including FERC regulations, rates, non-rate tariff terms, project finance, environmental compliance, and more. The candidate should be a self-motivated individual with excellent interpersonal skills, capable of working independently and collaboratively within a team.

Duties:

  • Conduct legal research and analysis on federal and state laws, regulations, and FERC proceedings related to electric matters.
  • Provide legal support in filings, research, and regulatory compliance for FERC matters.
  • Handle cases involving electric utility and transmission companies, LNG and hydroelectric facilities, and related transactions and agreements.
  • Participate in FERC Enforcement investigations and ensure compliance with environmental regulations.
  • Manage issues related to rates and non-rate tariff terms and conditions of service.
  • Navigate Siting, construction, and certificate proceedings and engage in Regional Transmission Organizations' and Independent System Operators' stakeholder processes.
  • Work with diverse clients, including electric generators, investors, large municipalities, and federal power agencies.

Requirements:

  • J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school.
  • Excellent academic credentials.
  • 5 years of experience in regulatory FERC matters.
  • In-depth knowledge of federal and state laws and regulations related to electric matters.
  • Experience in FERC proceedings involving electric utility and transmission companies, LNG, and hydroelectric facilities.
  • Strong understanding of rates and non-rate tariff terms and conditions of service.

Education and Certifications:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA-accredited law school.
