Job Overview: A prominent law firm is seeking an associate for its Infrastructure Group to work on large public civil works projects across the U.S. The ideal candidate will have 3-6 years of experience in construction law, real estate law, public contract law, and/or transportation regulatory law. A background in engineering, construction, or project finance is highly desirable. The successful candidate will be able to manage multiple projects, collaborate effectively within a team, and take ownership of significant legal matters.

Location:

  • Phoenix, AZ

Duties:

  • Manage infrastructure-related legal projects, ensuring timely completion and compliance with applicable laws.
  • Provide counsel on construction, real estate, public contract, and transportation regulatory matters.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to deliver innovative legal solutions for public civil works projects.
  • Take ownership of projects and handle various tasks independently.
  • Develop and maintain client relationships while contributing to business development efforts.
  • Meet billable hour targets, including pro bono work.

Requirements:

  • 3-6 years of experience in construction law, public contract law, or related practice areas.
  • Strong academic credentials.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Admission to the state bar in the office location.
  • Ability to handle significant responsibilities and exhibit leadership potential.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Admission to the state bar in the office location is required.

Skills:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience in construction law, public contracts, and related legal areas.
  • Ability to work in a team environment while managing individual responsibilities.
  • Background or knowledge in engineering, construction, or project finance is a plus.
