This of counsel-level opportunity involves guiding a diverse clientele through sophisticated aircraft-related deals, regulatory challenges, and operational considerations. The ideal candidate will have a demonstrated history of independent client management, deep familiarity with FAA regulations, and fluency in structuring aviation transactions.

Duties:

  • Handle complex domestic and international aircraft transactions, including acquisition, leasing, and financing arrangements

  • Advise on FAA compliance and regulatory strategy for business and private aviation clients

  • Support clients through aircraft completion, customization, and maintenance-related negotiations

  • Provide insight into tax planning related to aircraft ownership and operations at the federal, state, and local levels

  • Structure ownership and operational frameworks that align with business objectives and legal requirements

  • Represent corporate, high-net-worth, and institutional clients in matters involving commercial and VIP aircraft

  • Maintain high-touch client communications and independently manage transaction lifecycles

  • Collaborate with cross-functional legal teams as needed on corporate and regulatory matters

  • Contribute thought leadership in the niche space of aviation law and stay updated on regulatory developments

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience handling business and/or private aircraft transactions

  • Demonstrated ability to independently advise clients and lead aviation deals

  • Significant knowledge of the FAA and related regulatory frameworks

  • Proven ability to address technical and logistical challenges in aircraft acquisition and operations

  • Client-ready with polished communication and transactional negotiation skills

  • A portable book of business is a valued asset

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Active license to practice law in the State of Arizona (mandatory)

Skills:

  • Expertise in structuring aircraft ownership, financing, and operations

  • Familiarity with aviation-related tax planning

  • Strong analytical and legal drafting abilities

  • Comfortable advising both individual and institutional clients

  • Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills
