Job Duties:

  • Draft and prosecute patent applications in compliance with U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) regulations.
  • Conduct Intellectual Property (IP) due diligence and Freedom to Operate (FTO) analyses to assess potential legal risks.
  • Collaborate with attorneys and scientists to gather technical information for patent applications.
  • Stay abreast of changes in patent laws and regulations to ensure compliance and provide strategic advice.
  • Assist in managing patent portfolios and maintaining accurate records of filings and deadlines.

Requirements:

  • Must be registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
  • Hold a Ph.D. in Biology, Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, Biochemistry, Immunology, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience drafting and prosecuting patent applications.
  • Prior experience in a law firm is desirable.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Excellent academic credentials.

Education:

  • Ph.D. in Biology, Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, Biochemistry, Immunology, or related discipline.
