A law firm in Portland is seeking a Land Use Associate Attorney with at least 3 years of experience in real estate, environmental, land use, administrative law, or general litigation. The ideal candidate will possess a Juris Doctorate (JD) Degree from an ABA-accredited law school and strong communication skills, as well as a demonstrated interest in business development within the land use, real estate/construction, and/or natural resources industry.

 

Duties:

  • Appearance at public hearings and administrative proceedings related to land use matters.
  • Engage in general litigation tasks, including briefing and oral advocacy.
  • Conduct research and review of development feasibility for land use projects.
  • Prepare appellate briefs on land use and environmental law issues.
  • Analyze administrative codes and regulations relevant to land use applications.
  • Draft land use applications and related legal documents.

 

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctorate (JD) Degree from an ABA-accredited law school.
  • 3+ years of experience in real estate, environmental, land use, administrative law, or general litigation.
  • Admission to the Oregon State Bar or eligibility for immediate reciprocity.
  • Strong academic credentials and professional references.
  • Demonstrated ownership of projects and ability to work independently.
  • Excellent research, analysis, writing, and communication skills.
  • Interest in business development within the land use, real estate/construction, and/or natural resources industry.

 

Certifications:

Oregon State Bar admission or eligibility for immediate reciprocity.

  • Proficiency in legal research and analysis.
  • Excellent writing and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage projects independently.
  • Strong client service ethics.
  • Self-initiative and time management skills.
