A law firm seeks a licensed attorney to join its default servicing team in Columbia, SC. This full-time position offers an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual who is looking to grow in a dynamic legal environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication and organizational skills, with a focus on providing superior legal services in the default servicing sector, including litigation and real estate matters.

Duties:

  • Provide legal services related to default servicing matters, including litigation, bankruptcy, loss mitigation/workouts, real estate title curative, REO closings, and evictions.
  • Represent clients in state courts across South Carolina and North Carolina.
  • Conduct legal research and draft relevant documentation, including motions, responses, and pleadings.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, colleagues, and other stakeholders.
  • Handle multiple cases and tasks simultaneously, ensuring timely resolution and client satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with team members to improve processes and contribute to the firm's success.

Requirements:

  • Currently licensed to practice law in South Carolina (required).
  • Additional licensure in North Carolina is a plus.
  • Strong work ethic with a commitment to excellence in legal services.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively work with clients and colleagues.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active license to practice law in South Carolina (required).
  • Licensure in North Carolina (preferred, but not required).

Skills:

  • Strong legal research and writing skills.
  • Familiarity with default servicing, litigation, and bankruptcy procedures.
  • Ability to handle multiple cases with attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
