Associate Attorney needed for Roseland office

A law firm in Roseland, NJ is seeking an Associate Attorney with experience in insurance defense litigation. The Associate Attorney will manage their caseload under partner oversight, handling insurance defense litigation matters. They will be responsible for drafting legal documents, conducting research, attending court proceedings, and preparing for trials. Superior written and oral communication skills, familiarity with civil court rules, and the ability to work independently are essential for success in this role.

Duties:

• Manage own caseload with oversight by partners
• Draft motions, pleadings, and discovery responses
• Research and write memorandums
• Attend hearings and court conferences
• Conduct and defend depositions
• Attend inspections and mediations
• Consult with expert witnesses
• Prepare for trials and assist in trial proceedings

Requirements:

• 1-5 years of experience handling professional liability claims
• Superior written and oral communication skills
• Good organizational skills
• Familiarity with NJ & NY Civil Court Rules
• Self-starter with the ability to work independently
