Job Overview:

The Associate Attorney will be responsible for providing legal representation to clients in the consumer collection industry. They will advocate for clients in and out of court, drafting legal documents, and maintaining client relationships. The position requires a thorough understanding of consumer protection laws and the ability to navigate the litigation process effectively.

Duties:

  • Provide thorough and practical assessments and advice to clients.
  • Advocate for clients in and out of court during the legal collection process.
  • Communicate with opposing counsel and pro se parties to resolve disputes.
  • Draft and review legal briefs, correspondence, pleadings, and other documents.
  • Document account/file activity in accordance with firm and client policies.
  • Travel to various courts in the State and handle all aspects of case litigation.
  • Research laws, rulings, and regulations to formulate legal opinions.
  • Attend continuing education classes to remain informed of legal changes.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Active license to practice law in the state of California.
  • Experience in consumer collection litigation preferred.
  • Knowledge of civil litigation process and consumer protection laws.
  • Superior time management skills and ability to manage priorities.
  • Leadership skills and ability to motivate others.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate with colleagues effectively.

Education and Certifications:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the California State Bar.
