Job Title: Immigration Associate Attorney

Job Overview:
A Georgetown, TX-based law firm dedicated to immigration advocacy is seeking an experienced Associate Attorney to support and lead legal efforts related to family-based and humanitarian immigration matters. This role is ideal for a legal professional passionate about guiding individuals through complex immigration processes and committed to defending the rights of undocumented immigrants. The attorney will also oversee and mentor non-attorney legal staff, ensuring high standards of ethical and professional conduct.

Duties:

  • Evaluate client eligibility across various immigration relief options using a solutions-driven approach

  • Develop legal strategies for difficult immigration scenarios and advocate for favorable outcomes

  • Supervise and guide non-attorney legal staff, offering training and ethical oversight

  • Audit work produced by non-attorney team members to ensure accuracy and compliance

  • Conduct legal research and remain informed of updates in immigration law and policy

  • Respond to legal inquiries from internal legal support teams

  • Review, revise, and complete USCIS filings and related documentation

  • Ensure case preparation aligns with the legal team's operational goals

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience practicing family and humanitarian immigration law

  • Familiarity with immigration forms and processes, including VAWA, T-Visa, U-Visa, Asylum, Medical DA, I-601, DS-260, DS-160, I-130, and N-400

  • Skilled in drafting USCIS and consular applications and handling RFEs and NOIDs

  • Experience preparing clients for immigration interviews

  • Strong leadership capabilities and a team-oriented mindset

  • Commitment to continual improvement and openness to organizational growth

  • Spanish/English bilingual fluency strongly preferred

  • Immigration court experience is a plus

  • Client-centered advocacy orientation

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an ABA-accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Active Bar membership in good standing in at least one U.S. state

Skills:

  • Bilingual communication (English/Spanish highly preferred)

  • Legal research and analysis

  • USCIS and consular filing proficiency

  • Personnel mentorship and ethical oversight

  • Strategic problem-solving in legal contexts
