Job Title: First-Party/PIP Insurance Plaintiff's Attorney

Job Overview: A law firm in Ocala, FL, is seeking an experienced attorney to join its team and manage a substantial caseload involving first-party property or PIP defense litigation. The ideal candidate will have knowledge and expertise in all phases of litigation, from pleadings through trial, strong oral advocacy and writing skills, and be a Good Standing Member of the Florida Bar.

Duties:

  • Manage a significant caseload from inception to post-trial.
  • Attend hearings, depositions, mediations, and trials.
  • Prepare pleadings, discovery/discovery responses, motions, and other litigation documents.
  • Prepare timely reports to insurance carriers and clients regarding case status and ongoing activities.
  • Develop clients via relationship-building methods.
  • Travel to various courthouses and other locations will be expected.
  • Meet monthly billing requirements.
  • Work in an office professional setting.

Requirements:

  • 1+ years of first-party property or PIP defense litigation experience.
  • Knowledge and experience in first-party property claims and/or PIP litigation.
  • Expertise in all phases of litigation, from pleadings through trial.
  • Experience taking and defending depositions.
  • Strong and persuasive oral advocacy as well as excellent writing skills.
  • Skilled in evaluating cases.
  • Good Standing Member of the Florida Bar.
  • Working knowledge and familiarity with Microsoft Office products.
  • Technologically confident; comfortable using process management systems and available technology.

Education and Certifications:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admitted to practice law in the State of Florida.
  • Good Standing Member of the Florida Bar.
