Associate Attorney, Commercial Litigation and Real Estate

A law firm seeks an Associate Attorney in New York, NY, to support its commercial litigation, real estate, and tort defense practice groups by managing disputes and transactional matters from intake through resolution.

Duties

• Oversee caseloads from inception through resolution, including case evaluation and strategy development.

• Draft motions, memoranda, status reports, and settlement agreements.

• Conduct and defend depositions; appear in court for conferences and oral arguments.

• Respond to and prepare discovery requests and perform client risk assessments.

• Negotiate settlements and counsel clients on dispute resolution.

Requirements

• 3–8 years of experience in commercial litigation, real estate, or tort defense.

• Demonstrated excellence in legal research, writing, and document drafting.

• Strong organizational, problem-solving, and time-management skills.

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively across teams.

Education

• Juris Doctor from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Admission to the New York bar.
