Duties

  • Handle cases for veterans seeking benefits from the Veterans Administration.

  • Conduct legal research and write hearing briefs and post-hearing memos.
  • Conduct administrative hearings for clients before VA judges.
  • Collaborate with intake specialists, paralegals, and legal assistants to achieve team goals.

Requirements

  • VA accreditation required.
  • Admitted and in good standing with a U.S. State Bar.
  • Two+ years of experience in Veterans Disability law.
  • Effective oral and written advocacy skills and negotiation tactics.
  • Strong analytical skills for addressing complex legal issues.
  • Excellent communication skills for client and staff interactions.
  • Commitment to improving the lives of others and showing empathy to claimants.
  • Ability to work independently and assume significant responsibility.
  • Capability to mentor and train paralegals and legal assistants.
  • Virtual capabilities for hearings, with travel ability if necessary.
  • Strong legal research and writing skills.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree.

Certifications

  • VA accreditation.
  • Admitted to a U.S. State Bar.
