Job Overview:
A law firm is seeking a Finance and Restructuring Associate to join its Finance & Restructuring practice group. This position offers the opportunity to work on a wide range of corporate finance and restructuring matters, including commercial finance transactions, loan originations, and real estate financings. The role is available in various offices across the country, and the firm provides hybrid work flexibility. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to engage in drafting complex financial documents, advising clients, and managing multiple assignments independently.

Location:

  • Washington DC.

Duties:

  • Assist in corporate finance transactions, including loan originations and real estate financings
  • Draft loan agreements, security documents, intercreditor agreements, and related documents
  • Advise clients on covenant compliance and assist in structuring financial transactions
  • Lead due diligence teams and manage specialists
  • Provide legal counsel to financial institutions, borrowers, and private credit clients
  • Manage multiple assignments with minimal supervision, ensuring high-quality deliverables
  • Collaborate with colleagues to support clients across various financial matters

Requirements:

  • 3 to 6 years of experience in corporate finance and commercial finance transactions
  • Proven experience with loan origination, real estate financings, and related documentation
  • Strong experience in advising clients on covenant compliance and drafting complex legal documents
  • Demonstrated ability to lead due diligence teams and manage specialists
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple assignments effectively
  • Strong academic background

Education:

  • J.D. from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Admission to the state bar of the relevant jurisdiction where the position is located

Skills:

  • Excellent legal writing and drafting skills
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage complex assignments with minimal supervision
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a hybrid, team-oriented environment
  • Knowledge of corporate finance law, including loan origination, real estate financings, and intercreditor agreements
