Criminal Defense Attorney

A well-established law firm in Denver, CO, is seeking an experienced Criminal Defense Attorney to join its team. This role requires a seasoned litigator with a strong track record in the courtroom, exceptional advocacy skills, and a commitment to client representation. The ideal candidate will handle all aspects of criminal defense cases, from pre-trial motions to courtroom litigation.

Location:

Duties:

• Defend clients facing criminal charges, including felonies, misdemeanors, DUI/DWI, and drug offenses.
• Manage all aspects of criminal cases from client consultation through resolution.
• Conduct legal research, draft motions, and prepare legal documents.
• Represent clients in pre-trial hearings, negotiations, plea agreements, and trials.
• Develop effective defense strategies and provide expert legal advice.
• Handle sentencing hearings and post-trial motions.
• Ensure compliance with the Colorado Rules of Criminal Procedure.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 3 years of experience practicing criminal law.
• Proven ability to handle a full caseload independently.
• First-chair trial experience, with at least five trials completed.
• Strong understanding of trial procedures and criminal defense strategies.
• Exceptional writing, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Detail-oriented with excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• Ability to take initiative and exercise sound judgment.
• Preference for candidates with prior experience as a Prosecutor or Public Defender.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Active license to practice law in Colorado (Required).
