Job Overview: A prominent law firm in Freehold, New Jersey, is seeking a seasoned Criminal Defense Attorney with extensive experience managing serious criminal cases in Superior Court. The ideal candidate will have prior experience serving as a Prosecutor, Deputy Attorney General, AUSA, or Public Defender and must be able to handle cases from inception to resolution. This position offers an opportunity to join a collaborative legal team, focusing on providing high-quality representation to clients while contributing to the firm's growth.

Duties:

  • Represent clients in criminal defense matters, handling cases from investigation through trial
  • Prepare and argue motions, draft legal documents, and develop case strategies
  • Manage all aspects of jury trials, including client representation in court
  • Conduct legal research and analysis to build strong defense strategies
  • Collaborate with other attorneys and legal staff to ensure effective case management
  • Provide clients with legal counsel and maintain communication throughout the legal process

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years of criminal defense experience, including jury trial experience
  • Strong litigation skills and ability to handle cases independently
  • Experience working as a Prosecutor, Deputy Attorney General, AUSA, or Public Defender preferred
  • Excellent legal research, writing, and oral advocacy skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple cases simultaneously

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Active admission to the New Jersey State Bar is required
