A law firm is seeking a Trusts And Estates Attorney for their Indianapolis, IN office. This role entails working with the Trusts & Estates team on various matters including estate planning, estate and trust administration, business succession planning, and charitable planning. The successful candidate will have opportunities for advancement in a collegial environment and receive training with increasing levels of responsibility. They will collaborate with talented attorneys across practice groups and offices.

Job Overview:

  • Work with the Trusts & Estates team on estate planning, estate and trust administration, business succession planning, and charitable planning.

Duties:

  • Advise high-net-worth individuals on estate planning, succession planning, charitable planning, and wealth transfer planning.
  • Represent fiduciaries in estate administration matters.
  • Counsel trustees on trust administration and fiduciary responsibilities.
  • Develop and implement relationship-building skills both internally and externally.
  • Work with attorneys, staff, and clients from diverse backgrounds.
  • Excel in a team environment.
  • Demonstrate flexibility and thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Requirements:

  • 1-2 years of experience in advising high-net-worth individuals.
  • Experience in estate administration matters.
  • Highly motivated and a self-starter.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Excellent law school credentials and references.

Education & Certifications:

  • JD from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the Indiana State Bar or eligibility for reciprocity.
  • Prior experience in trusts and estates law preferred.

With additional offices throughout the Midwest and the East Coast, the firm has over 200 lawyers ready to serve their clients. New associates are assigned to one of five sections: Bond/Municipal Finance, Business, Labor, Litigation, or Real Estate. New associates are encouraged to let the firm know what areas interest them, but all attorneys are expected to be willing to work in a wide variety of areas. New associates are also provided with early client contact. While some associates arent ecstatic with the firms bonus structure, this mid-tier firm does pay higher than many similar firms in the area.
