The successful candidate will be responsible for handling a full caseload, interpreting laws and regulations, reviewing medical evidence, and communicating regularly with clients and other relevant parties.

 

Duties:

  • Interpret laws, rules, and regulations related to workers' compensation practice.
  • Review medical evidence and medical records.
  • Analyze the probable outcomes of cases and gather evidence, including interviewing clients, deposing relevant parties, and attending hearings/trials.
  • Communicate regularly with claims representatives and other relevant parties.
  • Present cases to arbitrators and draft legal documents, including opinion letters and settlement contracts.
  • Handle a full caseload efficiently.
  • Maintain organization and demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills.

 

Requirements:

  • Illinois licensed attorney.
  • 3+ years of workers' compensation defense experience.
  • Ability to interpret laws and regulations related to workers' compensation.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Organized and able to handle a full caseload efficiently.

 

Education:

Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

 

Certifications:

Admission to practice law in Illinois.

 

Skills:

  • Ability to interpret complex legal concepts.
  • Proficiency in reviewing medical evidence and records.
  • Strong advocacy and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with clients and other relevant parties.
