Job Overview

A law firm seeks an attorney to join its Wealth, Trust & Estate Planning group in Charlotte, NC. The ideal candidate will have two to four years of experience in trusts and estates, including drafting wills, trusts, and related documents. Knowledge of federal estate and gift taxes is required, with a preference for experience in estate administration and sophisticated tax planning.

Duties

  • Draft wills, trusts, and related estate planning documents.
  • Advise clients on federal estate and gift tax matters.
  • Assist with estate administration and planning for closely-held businesses.
  • Engage in charitable and sophisticated tax planning for entities and individuals.

Requirements

  • Minimum of two years of experience in trusts and estates.
  • Strong research, writing, and presentation skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.

Education

  • Juris Doctor degree (or equivalent).

Certifications

  • Admission to the North Carolina State Bar preferred.

Skills

  • Proficiency in drafting legal documents related to estate planning.
  • Knowledge of federal estate and gift tax laws.
  • Ability to manage complex legal matters.
