Job Title: Associate Attorney

Job Overview:
A law firm based in Indianapolis, IN, with a long-standing practice focused on homeowner and community associations, is seeking a Litigation Associate to join its growing collections department. This role is ideal for an entry-level attorney who is licensed in Indiana and interested in gaining hands-on courtroom experience and working closely with clients in a highly specialized legal area. This is a full-time, on-site position that offers structured training, professional development, and a full benefits package.

Duties:

  • Represent clients in small claims court appearances and conduct trials across Indianapolis and nearby counties

  • Prepare legal documents, including pleadings, motions, discovery requests/responses, and deposition outlines

  • Advise clients on legal strategy and the collections process, including negotiations and settlement options

  • Maintain regular communication with clients regarding case updates and procedural guidance

  • Assist in arbitration and mediation processes as needed

  • Travel within the metro area to attend hearings and meetings

  • Perform other responsibilities as needed in support of case management and litigation workflow

Requirements:

  • Active license to practice law in Indiana

  • 0-2 years of relevant experience, preferably in litigation or trial settings

  • Availability for local travel within the Indianapolis region

  • Familiarity with community association law, landlord-tenant law, or collections preferred

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Admission to the Indiana State Bar
