Pleading Review Associate Attorney

Job Overview: A law firm is seeking a dedicated Pleading Review Associate Attorney to join its team in Fairlawn, OH. The ideal candidate will be responsible for meticulously reviewing complaints, letters, and other pleadings to determine legal grounds for proceeding, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations, and contributing to file management and collections negotiations.

Job Details:

• Review pleadings for accuracy, including venue, balances, named parties, statute of limitations, documentation, and theories of recovery.
• Ensure compliance with organization goals, strategies, and values, following all protocols.
• Conduct legal research to stay updated on applicable laws affecting pleadings.
• Handle secondary responsibilities such as court appearances, file management, and collections negotiations.
• Demonstrate good communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Exhibit strong pleading and complaint experience, especially in the context of collections-related court documents.
• Display motivation by working independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
• Utilize computer and word processing skills, including proficiency in Word, PowerPoint, and Excel, and a quick ability to learn new technical programs.
• Preferred 1-2 years of experience in Creditors’ Rights or Collection fields.
• Possess a Juris Doctor Degree (J.D.).
• Must be licensed in the state of Ohio.
• Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
