Associate Attorney - Family Litigation

Job Overview

A law firm seeks an Associate Attorney specializing in Family Litigation to join their team in San Diego, CA. The ideal candidate will have one to five years of experience in family law and will contribute to a collaborative and professional environment.

Duties

• Assist supervising attorney in managing family law cases
• Draft letters, pleadings, financial disclosures, mediation briefs, and trial briefs
• Propound and respond to discovery, prepare meet and confer letters, and prepare motions to compel
• Prepare deposition outlines and exhibits
• Defend and take depositions
• Prepare witness questions for evidentiary hearings and trial
• Conduct legal research and prepare memorandums
• Prepare for and attend ex parte hearings, RFO hearings, and other matters
• Maintain routine client contact
• Handle matters from inception to conclusion
• Track billable time

Requirements

• Admitted to and in good standing with the California bar
• 1-5 years of family law attorney experience
• Strong analytical and oral communication skills
• Excellent writing skills
• Attention to detail and accurate work product
• Ability and desire to meet deadlines
• Highly motivated professional with a positive, team player attitude

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree
