Job Overview:

The Criminal Defense Attorney will be responsible for providing legal representation to clients facing criminal charges. They will manage all aspects of the client's case, from pretrial hearings to trial, and ensure that clients receive expert legal advice and representation throughout the legal process.

Duties:

  • Advise clients on their legal rights and draw up legal documents related to their cases.
  • Attend pretrial hearings on behalf of clients and advise them on the best legal strategies following each hearing.
  • Managed court appearances and trials, drafted motions, interviewed witnesses, and conducted legal research.
  • Analyze probable outcomes of cases using knowledge of legal precedents.
  • Manage a workload of cases efficiently and effectively.
  • Provide legal analysis to clients to determine any potential case benefits.
  • Gather additional evidence to support clients' cases or arguments against prosecution charges.
  • Prepare clients for depositions and determine essential goals of case strategy.
  • Gather information from witnesses and important experts that support client positions.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 3 years of Criminal Defense Experience.
  • Experience handling complex criminal cases at the federal, state, and local levels.
  • Strong teamwork skills and willingness to collaborate with fellow associates.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English/Spanish is strongly preferred.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills.

Education and Certifications:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the California State Bar.
