Job Overview:
A nationally recognized law firm is seeking an experienced attorney to lead the launch and growth of its Insurance Coverage and First-Party Property Litigation practice in North Carolina. This leadership role offers the autonomy of a boutique practice with the resources and brand power of a full-service national firm. The ideal candidate will bring a strong book of business, demonstrated success in managing complex insurance litigation, and the ability to grow a high-performing legal team. This is a unique opportunity for a partner-level attorney to establish and lead a new office while maintaining full control over client and case management.

Location:

  • Fort Lauderdale, FL

Duties:

  • Lead the establishment and growth of the firm's presence in North Carolina

  • Manage and expand a portfolio of insurance coverage and first-party property litigation cases

  • Provide strategic legal counsel and oversee all aspects of client representation

  • Collaborate with national business development and marketing teams to promote services and attract new clients

  • Mentor and manage a team of attorneys and support staff to ensure consistent quality and professional development

  • Maintain autonomy in daily operations while utilizing firm infrastructure and resources

  • Represent the firm in the local legal community and contribute to its regional and national brand

Requirements:

  • Significant experience in insurance coverage opinions and/or first-party property litigation

  • Demonstrated ability to manage and grow a successful book of business

  • Strong network of clients and referral sources in the North Carolina legal market

  • Proven leadership and team-building experience

  • Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to establish and manage a new office

  • Client-focused approach with a commitment to service excellence

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Active and in good standing with the North Carolina State Bar

Skills:

  • Proven ability to develop, lead, and mentor a legal team
