Job Overview: As a Local Government Attorney, the candidate will play a crucial role in providing legal counsel and support to local government entities. This role requires a willingness to commute to the office at least three (3) days a week and the ability to travel throughout the Florida Keys for various government events.

Duties:

  • Provide legal advice and counsel to local government clients.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate government contracts and procurement agreements.
  • Advise on Sunshine and public records laws compliance.
  • Address government ethics issues and concerns.
  • Assist in matters related to local government operations.
  • Conduct legal research and provide analysis on relevant legal issues.
  • Prepare legal documents, opinions, and memoranda.
  • Represent clients in government-related hearings and proceedings.

Requirements:

  • 1-5 years of experience in Local Government Law.
  • Familiarity with government contracts and procurement, Sunshine and public records laws, government ethics, and local government operations.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent research and writing skills.
  • Willingness to commute to the office at least three (3) days a week.
  • Comfortable with regular travel throughout the Florida Keys for government events.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Admission to the Florida Bar.
