A law firm in Columbus is seeking an experienced and skilled Trusts and Estates Attorney to join their team. The ideal candidate will have substantial experience in advanced estate planning, estate and trust administration, fiduciary litigation, and independent client interaction and management. Experience with tax-exempt organizations is also preferred. The candidate should possess excellent academic credentials and strong analytical, research, writing, and communication skills. The position requires 7-10 years of sophisticated law firm experience.

 

Duties:

  • Manage a diverse caseload of complex trusts and estates matters, including advanced estate planning.
  • Provide counsel on estate and trust administration, including probate and trust administration.
  • Handle fiduciary litigation matters, including will contests and trust disputes.
  • Independently interact and manage relationships with high-net-worth clients.
  • Advise clients on tax planning strategies, including for tax-exempt organizations.
  • Conduct legal research, analysis, and drafting of legal documents.
  • Communicate effectively with clients to understand their needs and provide tailored solutions.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and support staff on complex trusts and estates cases.

 

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to practice law in the state of Ohio.
  • 7-10 years of sophisticated law firm experience in trusts and estates.
  • Substantial experience in advanced estate planning, estate and trust administration, and fiduciary litigation.
  • Experience with tax-exempt organizations is preferred.
  • Excellent academic credentials.

 

Education:

Juris Doctorate (Required)

 

Certifications:

Admission to practice law in Ohio (Required)

  • Knowledge of tax planning strategies, particularly for high-net-worth individuals and tax-exempt organizations.
