Job Overview: A law firm in West Palm Beach, FL, is seeking a skilled Tax and Estate Planning Attorney to provide comprehensive legal services in trusts, estates, guardianship, and transfer taxes. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional communication and analytical skills, with the ability to navigate complex legal matters effectively.

Duties:

  • Reviewing and analyzing wills and trust agreements, estate settlement matters, and trust real estate matters
  • Handling homestead issues, trust and estate litigation, and complex trust/fiduciary legal issues
  • Analyzing proposals to modify or terminate trusts to assess legal risks
  • Advocating on behalf of clients by developing strategic plans of action
  • Drafting various legal documents including wills, trusts, and power of attorney
  • Attending court proceedings as necessary to represent clients
  • Meeting with attorneys, clients, and professionals to discuss cases or projects
  • Conducting legal research on associated issues
  • Preparing Florida Probate pleadings and other documents for sophisticated trust and estate administration matters
  • Drafting tax-related memos and reviewing initial drafts of trust and estate-related tax returns

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience
  • Broad expertise in trusts, estates, guardianship, and transfer taxes
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented
  • Proficiency in legal office software and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Capacity to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion
  • Capability to work independently and collaboratively within a team

Education & Certifications:

  • JD from an ABA-accredited law school
  • Admitted to and in good standing with the Florida Bar Association
  • LL.M in taxation required
