The role includes managing general negligence, premises liability, dog bites, and similar cases. The ideal candidate should have experience in handling such cases, either on the plaintiff or defense side, and be proficient in record reviews, affidavit preparation, party and expert depositions, case preparation for trial, and drafting motions, pleadings, and discovery responses. The Personal Injury Attorney will also collaborate with other litigation attorneys and report to the firm's President and Chief Operating Officer.

Duties:

  • Manage various personal injury cases, with an emphasis on third-party auto accident cases and first-party no-fault cases.
  • Handle cases involving general negligence, premises liability, dog bites, and similar claims.
  • Utilize experience from either the plaintiff or defense side in managing these cases.
  • Conduct record reviews and prepare affidavits for legal proceedings.
  • Depose parties and experts involved in the cases.
  • Prepare cases for trial, including gathering evidence and supporting documentation.
  • Draft motions, pleadings, and discovery responses as needed.
  • Provide assistance to other litigation attorneys on their current cases.
  • Report directly to the firm's President and Chief Operating Officer.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctorate (JD) degree.
  • Licensed to practice law in Michigan.
  • Experience in handling personal injury cases, particularly third-party auto accident and first-party no-fault cases.
  • Proficiency in record reviews, affidavit preparation, depositions, and case preparation for trial.
  • Strong skills in drafting legal motions, pleadings, and discovery responses.
  • Effective communication and collaboration abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
