A law firm is seeking a Litigation Associate Attorney for their Nashville, TN office.

 

Job Overview:

The Litigation Associate Attorney will be responsible for handling a diverse caseload focusing on foreclosure law, bankruptcy, and property litigation matters. They will represent clients from referral to resolution, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations.

 

Duties:

  • Manage litigation caseload encompassing probate, title curative, wrongful foreclosure, eviction matters, tax issues, etc.
  • Handle cases from referral through disposition, settlement, or verdict, attending court hearings and performing discovery.
  • Respond to disputes, adhere to investor guidelines, and comply with state and federal requirements.
  • Prepare and review accurate legal documents including court filings, correspondence, and figures for demand letters.
  • Resolve title issues and undertake necessary curative actions for clear title.
  • Provide legal advice, conduct legal research, and stay updated with applicable statutes and case law.

 

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Licensed to practice law and in good standing, residing in Alabama with licensure in additional states preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience practicing law with a focus on finance, real estate, or representation of financial institutions.
  • Familiarity with rules of evidence, state laws, civil procedure, and federal court practice.
  • Experience in real estate, mortgage, or commercial litigation strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of FDCPA, RESPA, TILA, and applicable state and federal debt collection and real property law.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in legal research, writing, and document drafting.

 

Education and Certifications:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Active membership in good standing with the State Bar of the states.

 

Skills:

  • Proficiency in legal research, writing, and document drafting.
  • Exceptional communication skills (oral and written).
  • Knowledge of foreclosure, bankruptcy, or evictions a plus; willingness to learn if no prior experience.
