A law firm is seeking a Trusts and Estates Associate Attorney for their Chicago office. The Trusts and Estates Associate Attorney will have the opportunity to handle a wide range of Trusts and Estates transactions and interact directly with clients and opposing counsel. The ideal candidate will possess excellent writing skills, attention to detail, and strong academic credentials, with a background or coursework in estate and gift taxation. Admission to the Illinois Bar is required. This role is suited for candidates with 0-3 years of experience in estate planning.

 

Duties:

  • Assist clients with estate planning, wills, trusts, and estate administration.
  • Draft and review estate planning documents, including wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and healthcare directives.
  • Provide counsel on estate and gift taxation matters.
  • Conduct legal research on trusts and estates laws and regulations.
  • Communicate with clients to assess their needs and provide personalized legal advice.
  • Manage and organize client files and documentation.

 

Requirements:

  • 0-3 years of experience in estate planning.
  • Background or coursework in estate and gift taxation.
  • Admission to the Illinois Bar.
  • Excellent writing skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong academic credentials from an accredited law school.

 

Education:

Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

 

Certifications:

Admission to the Illinois Bar.

 

Skills:

  • Knowledge of trusts and estates laws and regulations.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in legal research tools such as Westlaw or LexisNexis.
  • Excellent communication skills for client interactions and drafting legal documents.
  • Strong organizational skills for managing multiple client matters.
