The successful candidate will either have at least three years of family law experience or possess significant life experience that has cultivated strong empathy skills. Duties:

  • Handle family law cases, including divorce, child custody, visitation rights, alimony, and property settlements.
  • Prepare and draft legal documents such as petitions, motions, and agreements.

  • Provide empathetic, informed advice to clients, ensuring they understand their legal rights and options.
  • Negotiate settlements effectively to achieve client goals and minimize court time.
  • Manage communication with clients, courts, attorneys, and other involved parties.
  • Stay current with developments in family law and participate in continuing legal education.

Requirements:

  • A Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school.
  • Valid bar license in good standing in Illinois.
  • At least 3 years of practical family law experience or 5+ years of life experience that has developed strong empathy and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven track record of litigation and client management in family law.
  • High ethical standards and professionalism.

Education:

  • Juris Doctorate required.

Certifications:

  • Must be licensed to practice law in Illinois and maintain a good standing status.

  • Strong negotiation and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to handle a high caseload and multi-task effectively.
