A law firm based in San Diego, CA, is currently seeking a Business Litigation Associate Attorney to join their team. The Business Litigation Associate Attorney will be responsible for drafting pleadings and discovery, conducting legal research, managing fact discovery, communicating with clients and opposing counsel, and providing clear reporting to partners and client representatives. The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of experience in business litigation and possess strong analytical and written communication skills.

 

Duties:

  • Draft pleadings and discovery for all aspects of a case, including law and motion, discovery motions, propounding discovery, depositions, mediations, and trial.
  • Conduct comprehensive legal research and articulate findings to support case strategy and theories.
  • Manage intensive fact discovery, including the use of electronic discovery platforms and ESI issues.
  • Provide clear and persuasive communication and negotiation with opposing counsel.
  • Prepare comprehensive and clear reports for partners and client representatives.

 

Requirements:

  • Admission to and in good standing with the California Bar.
  • 3+ years of experience in business litigation.
  • Strong analytical skills and written communication skills.
  • Highly motivated professional who can take initiative and work independently as well as within a team.

 

Education & Certifications:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to and in good standing with the California Bar.

 

Skills:

  • Legal drafting, including pleadings and discovery.
  • Legal research and analysis.
  • Fact discovery management, including electronic discovery platforms.
  • Persuasive communication and negotiation.
